The borough of St Edmundsbury is one of the most vibrant and attractive areas in the East of England. But we cannot preserve it in cotton wool and not meet the challenges of the 21st century. Resisting change is not an option. This report is the second stage in shaping what our towns, villages and countryside will look like in 20 years time. We have taken on board the comments you made on our Core Strategy Issues and Options Consultation, which took place earlier this year, and we are proposing what we consider to be a sustainable framework for the future growth of the borough - but we need to know what you think.

The Local Development Framework will, when it is finished, provide robust guidance for decisions that will affect us all, whether living, working or providing services in the borough. It is therefore essential that we will provide as many opportunities as possible for people to have a say in what the framework will be.
